This is a semi-port of Microsoft's leaked 'Dark Media Center' theme.
Thought this style was pretty good two. Comes in two flavours, Solid and Transparent
*Was designed originally for Windows Basic*

Please note that I am currently using Windows Vista Home Premium, and that any questions relating to/about Home Basic I may not be able to answer. (I think VistaGlazz only works on Home Premium and above, by the way). Please read the included readme for step-by-step installation.
All files necessary to install the theme have been included within the .rar package ( RARlabs = [link] ) and are copyrighted by their respective owners/creaters. They are included for convenience only.
If you want to 'borrow' something from this visual style, please message me FIRST, ( 99% of the time I will say yes).
Aazarah...First of all, congratulations on putting together RoyaleNoir for Vista. When I used XP it was the only style I used and when I switched to Vista x64 I was frantically searching all over the internet for something that looked like it for Vista.
Thank goodness I was able to find your creation, which is just about identical to RoyaleNoir for XP. I was wondering, since this version is Beta, are you going to be releasing a final version?
The reason I ask, is the same reason I made the above statement "almost identical". The only difference I've noticed between RoyaleNoir for XP and your design for Vista, is that in the XP version, in the far left pane in Explorer it is all a slate gray.
But in your version for Vista, it is just white. Do you think you might be able to incorporate that into your final version, if you are indeed going to release a final version?
I should mention that, the gray color I'm talking about in the left pane of Explorer (actually I think in XP it's just called My Computer)does not cover over everything.
Still left white is a space for all of the drives on the computer. To show you what I mean, I would attach a screenshot of it on XP, but I don't think you can do that on here.
Even if you aren't planning to add that, and I do think it would look good, I still am very satisfied with RoyaleNoir for Vista.
Thanks for your input janlafata, however the truth is I just haven't been able to do very much on any Visual styles because of latent RL stuff that's been keeping me away from the PC for long periods. Hopefully I'll get back on it, although I really can't say when/how long because I don't know when/how long it will be before this RL matter is taken care off.
When I get back into it, I look into your suggestion, and if it can be done I might do it (Just don't expect it to be anytime soon, though)
if you can make the taskbar transparent, amd make the windows a little more transparent and also fix the memory usage this will be the best theme ever created
Hey there! I just want to give you a big thank you for making such a lovely dark theme, especially one that works for those of us who are aero-ly challenged (Matrox refuses to release wdm capable drivers). Running Windows Vista SP1 using the "basic" version of this theme.
Looks good for the most part, just some minor nitpicks. I've highlighted some areas in the following which point out what I wish were also black skinned. Some of the areas aren't on by default, so you may have missed them. I gather some of this might have been intentional for the moment, so "not themed" in these pictures may not be accurate. Still, it is my opinion that this theme would be better if it were black in these areas. [link] [link]
Also, is it possible, without more dll hacking or WB, to theme basic context menus? Those, too both in Explorer and IE7, seem to be quite bland in "Basic" mode.

I think the task bar could be darker though.
But overall great style
